Mountain and LandRock Climbing
Japan has produced a number of world-class rock climbers and the country has a number of popular rock climbing areas to explore. You won’t find the massive big walls like in North America and Europe, there are plenty of sport climbing options in Japan’s mountains and coastal areas as well as options for ice climbing in winter and multi-pitch alpine climbing. Bouldering has become quite popular as well, with some great bouldering areas within easy access from major urban areas and bouldering gyms popping up all over Japan.
